GeoFinancial Trends is dedicated to providing objective, in-depth, fact-driven analysis of historical developments, current events, and forward-looking trends in the world of finance.  Group-think and the herd mentality of major media, the academic establishment, and government agencies are viewed skeptically and challenged when warranted by contrarian facts and analysis.  GeoFinancial Trends is intended as an independent platform for global financial research.

Founder & Managing Member

Stephen Dewey founded GeoFinancial Trends, LLC in 2021 to establish an independent think tank offering in-depth, expert research, analysis, and commentary on global trends in money and banking, financial markets, economics, law, and geopolitics.

Mr. Dewey has 40 years of diverse, front-end business and financial experience in the private and public sectors. He is especially well-versed in financial crisis having provided due diligence and underwriting of distressed asset portfolios for top US investment firms, including GE Capital and Goldman Sachs, during the Asian Financial Crisis from 1998 to 2003 in multiple Asian countries.

Mr. Dewey also worked for about nine years with the FDIC during and after the US financial crisis from 2008 to 2017 where he was involved in the resolution of failed banks across the United States and resolution planning oversight of the largest global financial institutions.

Mr. Dewey earned his BA degree from Grove City College and his MBA degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
